This was a slight upset, as Nicolas Cage (Ghost Rider & National Treasure II) was the favorite at +110. Murphy did very well at the Razzies, taking home four awards- Worst Actor, Worst Supporting Actor, and Worst Supporting Actress for Norbit, and Worst Prequel or Sequel for Daddy Day Care.

Worst Picture
I Know Who Killed Me, -300
This movie completely dominated the Razzies, winning eight awards- Worst Picture, Worst Actress (twice?), Worst Screen Couple, Worst Screenplay, Worst Director, Worst Remake or Rip-Off, and Worst Excuse For A Horror Movie (apparently a new category).
The Oscars are tonight. At Bodog, No Country for Old Men (-500) is the big favorite for Best Picture. Daniel Day-Lewis (There Will Be Blood, -2000) is a huge favorite for Best Actor, with Julie Christie (Away from Her, -200) being a more reasonable fave for Best Actress.
More importantly, there are some pretty good props.
In their acceptance speech, who will the winner of the 80th Annual Academy (Oscar) Award for Best Actor thank first?They have this prop up for Best Actress also- interestingly (I guess), the odds are different. The Best Actress winner is expected to thank the Academy first (+200), with the fans (+1000) being less of a longshot.

Excellent. Just one thing: somehow, I Know Who Killed Me won eight Razzies (I think Lohan won twice for Worst Actress because she played two characters and there was a "tie" in the voting). It now holds the all-time record, beating Showgirls and Battlefield Earth. I can't wait until it's free On Demand so I can see it.

I saw that- I thought it was BS that it got double counted. Although I guess if she played two different characters, it's more reasonable.
ReplyDeleteTechnically it is BS, but I think that's what makes it so funny. Lohan is so freaking horrible that they rigged the voting to make sure she got double counted as worst actress while also setting the record for most Razzies won.

The previous record for a movie was seven, for Showgirls and Battlefield Earth.
ReplyDeleteI read somewhere that there was voting, but it can be hard to separate reality from fantasy where the Razzies are involved, so they may have been kidding.
