The End
Well, this is it. It'd be hard to argue that these aren't the two best teams at this point. People have been complaining about various things all tournament, which annoys me to no end. There weren't enough upsets on the first day. Belmont almost beat Duke- who cares if there were now 5-12 "upsets"? There haven't been enough close games. Yes, there have been a lot of blowouts. But *Davidson* was a shot away from the Final Four, and I can't think of many things more fun to watch than Kansas' 29-4 run in the first half on Saturday. This is the best three week run in any sport; I don't understand why people always need something to complain about.
There aren't many odds left to discuss. Memphis is favored by 2, and everyone is picking them, for reasons that are entirely beyond me. If UNC had won on Saturday, they'd be favored, and everyone would be all over them. Kansas beat the Tar Heels by 18. Memphis beat an inferior UCLA team, in less impressive fashion. I have been picking KU all tournament, and will do so again tonight.
Sportsbook has Final Four MVP odds up again. Rush, 15:1 last week, is now 3:1. Rose is even money, and CDR is +250. Taking Rose at EV would be silly- you'd be much better off just betting on Memphis to win. CDR had 28 against UCLA, I'm not sure why his odds are so much different than Rose's. He's probably the best play there.
Kansas, along with being a better team than UCLA, matches up better with Memphis than the Bruins did. If anyone in the country can guard Rose, it'd be Robinson. And while UCLA had nobody tall enough to guard CDR, the Jayhawks have Rush. On the other end, Dorsey was able to shut down Love, but KU doesn't rely on one guy inside like the Bruins, as they have Jackson, Arthur, Kaun, and, apparently, Aldrich.
Contrary to the score I posted here, I do think it will be close, and would not be surprised at all if Memphis won. I just don't get how their bandwagon got so full, so fast.

I don't get it either, VW.
Robinson won't stop Rose, but it won't be quite the mismatch that we saw with Collison. And the KU frontcourt is going to be extremely tough for the Memphis bigs to handle. As you said, Love is really all UCLA had down there - not true of KU.
I like KU to win by 8, and Bill Self to bolt for his alma mater by Friday (haha).
Anyone else in the 99th percentile on ESPN's Bracket Challenge?

Wow, you would really be doing well if your South bracket wasn't such a disaster. Nicely done.
Fucking Lopez brothers and Crean seemingly unaware about the defensive strategy called 'double teaming'. Marquette was my big miss--as opposed to the Davidson omission--but other than that I did pretty damn well. And by I did pretty damn well I mean Ken Pomeroy's raw ratings. I did my own conference adjusting and that led to this.
I felt bad after filling that bracket out, what with the whole 'all number ones in the Final Four' stigma but winning two pools with that bracket kind of removes the stigma. And the 'Nicely done' from one of the only sports blogs that matter.
/sucking up
I don't know where else to post it, but that ridiculous bank shot/prayer by Rose was a 2 pointer. Will the extra point given by the refs matter? Will the refs look at it again in the under 4 TO?
Yikes, the ref is standing right there. He should see that...
OK, point retracted. At least they reviewed it. Still a bad call by that ref, standing right there on the wing.
Does tonight's game rank up there with best championship games of all time? Which one do you think deserves the best ranking?
