British Open Props

There is an NL MVP odds post coming at some point. But these are time sensitive.

First, from Bodog.

What colour will Ian Poulter's outfit be on the first day of the British Open?
All bets have action. Based on Predominate Color

They first list a bunch of colors. "Red and White" is the favorite at 4/1. And then:

Purple with Yellow Polka Dots, 150/1
He Will Tee Off Naked, 1000/1

I take back the thing about the Falcons undefeated odds. Atlanta could, theoretically, sign some recently retired QB, have breakout seasons from 12 different guys, and win 16 games by a total of 22 points. Ian Poulter teeing off naked is not a feasible option.

Will Jean Van De Velde get his feet wet at the British Open?
Jean Van De Velde to take a shot from the water during the 2008 Open
Yes, 50/1

This could happen, couldn't it? He is playing, I checked to make sure. How often do guys take shots from the water? Has he pledged to never do it again or something?

Will Rafael Nadal be at Royal Birkdale to cheer on Sergio Garcia in the 2008 British Open?
Rafael Nadal to be Photographed at Royal Birkdale.
10/1

Talk about easy to rig. Have they never heard of Photoshop?

Will Colin Montgomerie throw a tantrum at the British Open?
Colin Montgomerie to have an argument with another player, official, member of public or TV crew at The Open and be reported on TV coverage to be settled as winner
5/1

Finally, BetUS has one interesting prop:

2008 British Open Winner's Headwear
Cap, -350
Visor, +500
No Headgear, +650
Any other type of hat, +1200

What, exactly, would fall into that last category? Some kind of winter hat? A sombrero?

Update: ML answers my question with the picture on the right. You can get him at 500:1 at 5Dimes though. And Shingo is not playing this week. Unless Sergio comes out sporting one of these, there's no value there.

You will not find this kind of in-depth headwear analysis anywhere else, that's for damn sure.

I figured you'd make a good post on this.

I researched the head gear prop a bit. Of the primary contenders, only Westwood, Vijay, and Allenby consistently sport the visor.

I think the value may actually lie with cap.

Please, please, please let the winner be wearing a sombrero...

I like player from USA to win +275 at bodog. If you take pinny's lines and convert them to vigfree add up all the corresponding probabilities a fair line for this should be +267.

So if you think that pinny has reasonable lines there is a little value there.

That is the answer to the question at the end of your post.

I don't think Shingo is in the field though.

Greg Norman is:

But I think you can get better than 12-1 on him.

Other was the way to go. There are a shit load of winter hats on the course right now.

What if the winner is wearing both a cap and a winter hat?

I wish I had known about the weather. We'll see what it's like on Sunday though.

What if it rains? His feet are wet, and there may be some sort of water he is stepping in while taking a shot...

Norman wore a baseball hat yesterday, and has another one on today. Mike Weir, Zach Johnson, and Robert Karlsson, among others, rocked beanies.
