Tampa Bay, 4.8-1 (Matchbook)
Current Record: 96-64
PECOTA Playoff Odds: 100%
Tampa Bay Rays: 2008 AL East Champs
Tampa's loss tonight means that the first of the four playoff matchups is set--Red Sox vs. Angels, with Los Angeles having home-field. The Angels will also get to choose which series they play; if you look at the schedule, one of the AL series has an off day after Game 1, which would allow both teams to go with a three-man rotation.
The Rays will host whichever team wins the AL Central. They'll probably be rooting for that race to stretch out as long as possible, with the possibility that the White Sox will have to make up their game with the Tigers on Monday, and then play Minnesota for the division title on Tuesday.
Edit: The Angels have selected the longer series. Their rotation will be Lackey, Santana, Saunders, in that order.

Rickie Weeks is Dirk Diggler. He can walk, he can do the long ball... he can do whatever you need him to, Dale. He's ready to bat, Dale. He can do it again if you need him to, Dale.
do we know who LA's 4th starter would be?
i'd really like it if lackey had to pitch in fenway... i heard he doesnt like it there much

Because of the (ridiculous) spacing of the schedule, they won't need a fourth starter in the first round.
It would have been Weaver.
