I have absolutely no idea how you watch all five hours and fifteen minutes of this, and come away with a headline of:
K-Rod? Seriously?
Not Shields, who came in with a guy on first in the seventh and got Youkilis, and then proceeded to pitch two more scoreless innings.
Not Weaver, who pitched the 11th and 12th, because they had no traditional relievers left, because K-Rod had managed to throw 33 pitches in a single inning, and got the win.
No. Screw those guys. It was K-Rod, who walked two and gave up a single in his one inning, coming two pitches away from walking the winning run in before heroically getting Jed Lowrie to line out to right.
Got it.
