NFL Survivor: Week 15

Last week:
Indianapolis: W, 35-3
Arizona: W, 34-10

Down to 2,744 remaining in the ESPN pool after losing 9% last week.

Teams used: Philly, Tampa, NY Giants, Jacksonville, Dallas, Minnesota, Houston, NY Jets, Chicago, San Diego, Carolina, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Arizona.

Here are this week's most popular ESPN selections:

Indianapolis (vs. Detroit)

Yeah, this one. Indy is -17; that's the largest spread of the year, surpassing the Patriots, who were favored by 16 against the Chiefs in Week 1 (they had a different QB, or something). There's no compelling reason not to use them this week, as they are my best remaining option by 10 points, and aren't very useful to save; their last two games are @JAX and vs. TEN.

I haven't given it much thought yet, and will obviously not be making any decisions before looking at next week's lines, but the Saints will probably be the pick for dreaded Week 16.

im taking Indy as well and i currently have NO scheduled for next week and GB the week after.

I guess we are gonna have like 1500-2000 ppl tied at the end. niiiiice

Would Philly be the best pick for someone who doesn't have Indy available?

Well yeah, that's pretty easily the second largest spread. And they have two tough games to close out the season, so no point in saving them.

I'm in a pool that requires 2 picks for weeks 12-17 so some of the more obvious picks are no longer available. That being said my "favorites" this week to choose from are Washington, Seattle, Atlanta, Green Bay - minor dogs or near pick e'ms available are Pittsburgh and Jacksonville.

Consider Washington as written in ink; so the question is who to pair them with? Injury news with Jax favors GB but they were rolled for 550 yds last week - largest point spread is Seattle but it seems wrong to hinge a 100k pool on a 2 win team.

Any thoughts here or should i just flip a coin?

VW,

Better root for New Orleans to beat chicago tomorrow so they have some incentive next week.

I am thinking NO too for next week, but I still have Chicago available, unlike you. What do you think of the idea of just taking the winner of tomorrow night's NO-CHI game for week 16?

Vegas,

Thoughts on Houston over Oakland in Oakland as a sleeper pick for week 16? My options could also include New England or Denver...

boscokid....stay away from Pittsburgh. baltimore could crush them. Use the Falcons...Atlanta will win this week.

Think you have to go with Atlanta there, although none beyond WAS are very good options.

I would definitely prefer Denver to Oakland, they were the other team I was considering.

I wouldn't touch the Pats unless ARI is resting a bunch of guys.

I would prefer Denver to Oakland too!! However, I said Houston, not Oakland!

So, would you prefer Denver to Houston?? The TB-San Diego game was just moved to 1:00 PM. Even if Denver doesn't clinch the division this week...there is a significant chance the division will be clinched by the time Denver kicks off at 4:05 PM in week 16 if Tampa bay beats San Diego as expected. Would you rather have a Denver team who might take it easy to rest for the playoffs, or a Houston team that is battling like crazy to close strong?

Houston's offense might just be too efficient for an Oakland team that has only scored 20 pts 3 times this year.

Any thoughts?

Josh,

Wouldn't Baltimore or Atlanta be more preferable to GB in week 17??

Yes, this is obviously what I meant, my fault.

Indy is clearly going to win this week, but next week is barren. I was thinking of taking Washington this week and taking Indy next against Jax. Otherwise if I take Indy this week, I'm looking at San Fran next. What do you think is the better combo, Indy-San Fran or Wash-Indy?

Hey Vegas Watch!,
I already used Indy last week (Was too scared to take Arizona for some reason) and now I am stuck between 2 choices for Week 15...

I am thinking of going with N.E. Patriots or the Washington Redskins... Who do u think is the best option of the 2 for this week?

Anonymous said...

My choices this week are NE, Seattle, and... San Diego. Thoughts?

I lied. My choices are NE, Seattle, SD, AND AZ...

"Indy-San Fran or Wash-Indy?"

I'm kind of having a hard time believing that SF is your best option for next week. They're going to be favored by like a FG.

Pats for both, rather easily.

Wash-Indy.

I was considering holding Indy too, but I am just going to take the gimme win this week on Indy, and worry about next week when it gets here....maybe a QB gets injured....maybe New orleans wins tonight and has something to play for next week.

VegasWatch,

Update:
Would u still still go with the N.E. Pats instead of Washington even if there is a major chance that Cassel might night play?...Team says his status is now uncertain for the game...

Lionheart007 said...

Opps should say "NOT" instead of "night", typo...

OK so if Cassel doesnt play, who is your favorite out of NE, Wash, AZ, SD, Seattle?

Yeah, I'd just go with Washington.

vegaswatch,

week 16 chicago or new england?

Anonymous said...

I originally posted about Indy-San Fran or Wash-Indy choice. Like you said, I'm going to take the, hopefully, sure thing in Indy and choose among San Fran, Chicago, and Denver next.

What's the pick next week, if NO is not available?

Anonymous said...

Denver also an option week 16 (for me at least). Home against Buffalo. Buffalo is mailing it in, Denver is inconsistent (but the Saints are too) but don't see them losing at home in the third week in December to a team as bad as buffalo's become.

What if Denver clinches before the game? Will there be a let down? Could trent Edwards coming back, surprise them?

Anonymous said...

Whats wrong with Houston week 16??

Anonymous said...

New England or Houston
