BetUS and
Sportsbook have Final Four odds up again. For the most part, they're the same as last week (see full odds
here), and the odds on both sites are almost identical to each other. There is one glaring exception:

I don't get this. I'll let
MoneyLine elaborate. He looked at the most efficient (according to Pomeroy) offenses and defenses of the last five years, concluding:
"Lastly, and by far most importantly to my cause, is the fact that only one team appears on both of these Top 10 lists. That team is the 2008 Kansas Jayhawks, who strictly by the numbers weigh in with the top defense and 5th best offense of the last 5 years. Whether Kansas would beat 2004 Duke or 2007 Florida is irrelevant. They don’t have to. My motive for comparing 2008 Kansas to teams of the recent past is to give the non-believers an even deeper appreciation for just how balanced this squad is.
Comparing them to only 2008 squads, Kansas ranks 1st in both offensive AND defensive efficiency, which is a pretty incredible feat in my opinion."
Kansas is currently 5th in both polls, a projected 2 seed, 8th in RPI, and not even the top seed in their conference tournament. This is allowing them to fly under the radar, and is the reason for these odds.
This information is also fairly meaningless (except for their seed, which is important but subject to change). The Jayhawks may not win it all, or even reach San Antonio, but right now, by any
predictive,
objective measure, they're the best team in the nation.
